About Beth-El Academy

School of Special Education- serving students with special needs.

Public education is in serious need. This current presidential administration has endeavored to terminate the Department of Education which will be detrimental to many students financially. This will be event more of a detriment to students with special needs. Today, in our community there have been various challenges to educating students with special needs on a broad scale. In schools where more than 30% of the student population are students with learning disabilities, there is a critical need to provide structures that will provide comprehensive education to students that can accommodate for the shortcomings of public education. Dealing with many of these problems such as classes of restrictive settings (smaller classes, less movement), student overcrowding, bullying, an inability for students to produce adequate completion of work, lack of parental involvement and advocacy, and a host of others, it is apparent that this special education system is broken. As mentioned by Samuels (2019), children with disabilities aren’t always identified for needs when they have them. When they are identified, what happens in the classroom is hit-or-miss. And, as countless school officials, advocates, parents, and teachers have said, there’s not enough money in the law to accomplish all that is required. With the ending of the department of education, our communities must have educational structure in place to rise above the incoming challenges.

The purpose of Beth-El Academy School for Special Needs is to provide a remedy to many of these problems to produce better educational outcomes for students with disabilities and give access to a better way of life. At Beth- El Academy, the entire Special Education Department will partner with our students, families, and staff to ensure that every student's educational journey continues to the highest degree possible.

The belief that each child matters is at the heart of all of our efforts in our department of Special Education. We are dedicated to creating all-inclusive schools with programs and services that promote the success of all students. We nurture collaboration between students, families and school staff ensuring support for students with disabilities and their families through the implementation of individualized education programs in the least restrictive environment.
